Can someone with a 240 post a few pics of the fuel filler/ neck area with the cap removed.
Or if you have the inner trim removed a pic of how the fuel filler neck fits up inside the quarter panel
As my 260 has had a 240 quarter panel fitted I now need to mix and match 240 - 260 parts to get things to fit
The std upper 260z metal neck is too big to fit the 240 panel

Many thanks Dave
I've a spare 240 neck aswell, but am unsure of how it fits, or if its even the right type?
It's a single solid neck with no join between the tank unlike the 260 type
How you get its upper "top hat" part up inside the filler flap area I dont know ?

I seem to recall when fitting mine heating it up with a hot air gun/hair dryer so it goes a little soft and then squeeze the top hat part from the inside so that it goes through the hole yours may have gone rock hard with age but it will squeeze throught the hole.

You're right it is hard, so thought about putting it in the oven to soften it up
But didn't as it seemed so far out to fit?
Maybe not so far out to try heating as your idea ?

I'll try heating it up, but if it fits there must be a metal top hat part that the cap screws down onto?
That part I don't have so will need

Not sure if these are going to be helpful.

Yep, thats a great help
I can see i'm deffo missing that top metal part the cap screws down onto!
Anyone got one spare?

If I do get the 240 neck to fit I only hope it has the right angle to join to a late 260 tank
