Who built Bell and Siddall's cars? Surely not BTR!

    Safari Classic

Tuthill alone are running 18 911s with a team of 120 people! That is almost twice as many cars as Zs entered in the whole field! I am sure that both Zs and 911s, properly prepared, are good cars for the event. I don't think that money can be an issue for 99% of the people taking part on...

    Safari Classic

Three 260Z's in the top ten after 4 days - Geoff Bell 4th, Steve Perez 5th, Andrew Siddall 10th. Last year's winner, Bjorn Waldegard (one of a zillion Porsche 911s on the event) is out already after a big roll.

    Roger Albert Clark Rally 2013

I think you will find that the car that Jeremy Easson drove belongs to the co-driver Mike Reynolds. Robert Close has done most rallies with Mike but Graham Waite and Jeremy Easson have both driven the car on other rallies. I can assure you that just getting to the end of that event is a...

    Roger Albert Clark Rally 2013

Nothing on here about last weekend's Roger Albert Clark Rally!! For once, two 240Z's started the event. Jeremy Easson/Mike Reynolds, who were quite fancied runners, retired on SS1 with a broken propshaft BUT the Dutch crew of Armand Adriaans/Anne Marie Magis finished 24th overall and won class...

    Mid Wales Stages

I think you are getting confused - and it is quite easy at the moment! David Winstanley's coverage is of the new RAC Championship which is 99% Escorts and most of those Mk 2s. Yesterday's coverage by the Special Stage Rally Review people was of the British Historic Rally Championship and spent...

They have not registered for the Championship, so no coverage :(

    Mid Wales Stages

The MSA, the governing body for Motorsport, including Historics in this country, require compliance with homologation for Category 3 cars. For Category 1 and 2 cars the "used in period" rule is applied. Of course, some items are not covered by the homologation and I suspect this is where some...

    Mid Wales Stages

Category 2 is for cars registered 1/1/68 to 31/12/74, Category 3 1/1/75 to 31/12/81 In the UK, any mod which can be proved to have been used in rallying in the category period is allowed.

Keiron Patterson's rally Z is for sale on eBay - only £46k if you want to come out and play! It is a nice car and lightly used but.......

    Mid Wales Stages

Ricki Proffitt runs in Category 1 (up to '68 cars) as does Dessie Nutt, so their cars are only 2 litre, but the Z did beat the Category 2 911 of Peter McDowell. Our old car did one rally (2010 Severn Valley) six months after we sold it and has not been seen since! There was a pic of our horrid...

    Mid Wales Stages

Robert Close & Mike Reynolds finished 2nd in Category 2 in the first round og the 2013 BHRC, using Mike's 240Z. This must be the best Z rally result in the UK since Dominic Frattaroli won the Robin Hood Stages a few years ago!

    73 RAC Rally - 240Zs

I have never heard of a Z rally car having cooling problems, even with a full set of lamps fitted. Some use an aluminium radiator but you need to check the legallity of this in Historic competition. Were alloy radiators used in rallying "in period"?

    73 RAC Rally - 240Zs

Ugh! Sounds horrible! Good Luck, Duncan! Good to see John Spiers' old car out again and 2 Zs entered for the RAC. There are no less than 6 Saabs entered but sadly we are not one of them! 2 2-strokes, 3 V4's and an ex works 900 in the modern bit. We'll aim to do 4 or 5 events next year but...

    Rally Update

Ref the first one - anyone in a press tabard can stand where they like, "at their own risk" of course - Debby & I almost ran over a photographer on the Tempest a few years back! The last one just had to be Andy Burton...shame we won't be seeing (or hearing) that one next season :(

    Rally Update

Some spectators will stand in the stupidest places, despite the efforts of the marshals. I can be quite scarey for the competing drivers!

    Rally Update

Mike Reynolds has entered his 240Z on the Trackrod Rally this coming weekend with Robert Close driving, and then the Cambrian Rally in N Wales on October 8th with Graham Waite in the driving seat. Cambrian should be particularly interesting as Graham Waite is a fast and spectacular driver on...
