hello there my z31 has picked up yet another mysterious noise... this is a rear end acceleration dependent noise, mechanic reckons its from the diff. probably wont fail, but its fairly headache inducing on long drives. Is it worth replacing? if so, anyone know where i could pick one up...

just a quick question; have a fuel leak, and the fuel filler pipe is the main suspect. is it easiest to just a new one made?

oops, its the back axel he needs. anyway got a few quotes from some breakers, so maybe its ok.

hey as the subject says! i am posting here, rather than classifieds, because in general i am looking for a z31 parts trader.. i heard ken died :( he was a really cool guy about the drive shaft...I am not sure exactly what the problem is, as i gave the car to my dad before moving to japan 3...

yeah that sounds about right. GTRs start at 5k for a reasonable one. hohum, heres a photo of the dodgy silvia s14. the interior is pretty nice. lots of shiney guages. all i can tell about upgrades is a nice big intercooler and a very nice manifold. not sure about upgraded breaks or suspension...

hehe yeah my bicycle can go faster than most cars in the city :) as for driving styles, these guys mostly go to the mountains and bum around on the mountain roads. or do `dirt trials` on off-road dirt tracks. so it is kind of a toss up between investing a little in something i dont mind...

i dunno really just something to mess around in. i am in japan and joined the university Rally/race club so i can get free parking (and maintanence!) i originally planned to get a z32 or the cheapest gtr i could find, but maybe something cheaper and less costly if i mess it up is better...

maybe i should stick with Zs, i dunno. CRX might be better for road rallys tho? how does a z32 perform on corners? (i`ve only ever had a z31, and the weight was a downside)

any opinions on CRX? hey just wondering if anyone had any favourable opinions on the old honda crx? (mark 2 not the del sol) neill

hey, thanks, i will keep my eyes open anyway. are the car auctions worth checking out? as for cost of gtrs, i suppose i mean relative to the cost of a good z32 they are expensive. there are allot around though, more so than z32s. i've also seen a few honda NSXs as well.

hey yeah, you are right really, when all the hassle and shipping is worked through there is not much difference in price. my original plan was a nice GTR, but they are too expensive even here. but if anyone does have their eye on jap parts i can try and help

hey anyone have any contacts or friends in Zclubs in japan? I here for a while and i miss my old Z :( I dont know if i am ready to buy a car here yet as i have no parking (Tokyo is a terrible place for driving), but it would be nice to get in with a local Zclub. when i return to the UK...

i also reccomend if you have the space get a parts car. it will save you so much money in the long run.. gah

i say go for it... how can you devalue it from 300quid?? unless pristine with 0 miles, these cars arnt worth much. a better choice than a v8 would be a RB26DETT :) there are photos of this having been done, but it would be expensive and take forever

just a quick note to say that it was the CAS, and the car is (reportedly) now running fine. if you see an bald guy driving a red Z31 in manchester its probably my dad :) thanks for the help, Neill p.s. japan is weird!

I took it to an electrician and he tested it and said yeah it is most likely the CAS. he's checking with nissan for oem, and i'll probably give ken a call to see if he has one. thanks for the help guys i'm glad this is almost solved (tho i don't get to drive :| maybe i can pick up a nice Z...

i don't have an AFM or CAS to hand, alas :| and i'm moving to japan next monday and giving the car to my old man as a gift. i paid for an exhaust, MOT, tax, timing belt etc etc so it would be running ok for him, but looks like i'll have to leave this misfire problem with him for a while...
