    50th Anniversary celebrations - Australia

Bowral isn't that far, about 150-200 kms. He put the 260 up for sale as soon as it was registered but, as far as I know, he had little to do with the Datsun community. Some on a forum tried to get him to put on a BBQ but I think he sussed out most just wanted to meet Mrs Feff! He's moved on to...

    Drive shaft shortening

I've shortened driveshafts successfully - and my Zed has 350hp. You need to turn one end of the cut shaft down to create a spigot and drill a corresponding hole the cut portion of the shaft. This will aid concentricity when joined. Machine a chamfer from the OD to the spigot/hole. Then mate...

Great to see someone having the testicles to do something different, and bonus point for the quality on the work.

Love em or loathe em, good to watch

Someone on AusZcar offered to buy the lips but Jeff said they would remain with the car for any future owner who may wish to return the car to OEM specs. I originally thought the videos cringeworthy but I must say I've warmed to them .. somewhat.

    rod compression front sosupension

I think they are fitted the wrong way around in the photo. I'm not sure it makes that much difference in operation, it's more aesthetics. In the illustration it is better shown on the roll bar links.

    Snapped Tension Rod. Darn it!

You might want to consider these: http://www.swmotorsport.com.au/product_info.php?cPath=1&products_id=98 I've never met the chap nor purchased any products but I know many owners have.

    Snapped Tension Rod. Darn it!

Tension (Compression, Castor, Radius) rods are common on many vehicles. Down here we use the larger dia rods from early 80s Ford Falcons. The holes are the same centres as the 240Z and a long thread facilitates the use of locking nuts either side of bushes. The also allows for castor adjustment...

Scuttle / cowl drain hose replacement

Just a comment on those drain hoses. It is a rather average design which directs the water to run down the lower portion of the 'A' pillar. There is a suggestion that this facilitates water entering the sill (rocker panel) and contributes to the rapid rusting of the dogleg area, Nothing is...

Indicator switch contact points - repair?

Actually I asked the OP question on HybridZ and the Yanks have come up with a modern alternative. http://forums.hybridz.org/topic/125801-repair-solution-for-bad-turn-signal-switch/ If you Google the part number it is easy to understand.

Indicator switch contact points - repair?

There are some images here but it is an earlier 4 contact switch whereas mine is a later 2 contact version. http://www.classiczcars.com/topic/50735-turn-signal-switch-spring-ball/

Indicator switch contact points - repair?

To engage the o/s indicators requires and extra 'tug' on the arm of the switch. I've pulled it apart - but unfortunately didn't take photos - and it appears the contact points are worn. They are similar in appearance to distributor contact points. I'm wondering if anyone has suggestions how...

I believe it is an exercise in weight reduction rather than performance per se. A good example is the retention of OEM suspension components which are invariably a good deal lighter than after-market components,
