Thanks. I see the age of your early 260Z. My 240Z was registered very nearly a year later than yours. Mine is '74 N reg.

Thanks for the reply. I noticed that one on ebay, but it has been heavily modified with scoops and vents. I really dont want to go down the plastic route unless i absolutely have to. I have my reservations about them, but if you say they are good items, it does give me an option.

OK i have been looking into the VIN for my '74 240Z it would appear to have a 1972 VIN. VIN is HS30 1032xx, obviously not xx at the end but i dont want to publish exact VIN. Hi, im going through a restoration of my 240Z at the moment and the bonnet has been shot blasted. It would seem the front edge was full of filler covering up some nasty holes. My dilema is this, the guy restoring the car thinks if the bonnet is touched with a welding torch it will warp, so...

This was an awesome show and hill climb! Didn't get to chat any other z owners. Saw 4 other z. 2 blue ones a gorgeous green one and an orange one. I took pictures will post them once uploaded.

I will check the pipes are all leak free. My car doesnt have a mechanical fuel pump, its got a blanking plate over the hole, only uses an electric fuel pump.

Starting problems are every time when its cold be it a week or the next day. The choke lever moves the arm on the carbs, but doesnt seem to have any effect. I have to use a combination of lots of cranking,patience and throttle to get it started. I will check for leaks once i have managed to...

Ok that makes sense. Does it matter if its blocked off rather than connected to the tank pipes? Also could this have possibly been why it is a nightmare to start from cold i wonder? I will go and start it up tomoro and see if the return line is leaking anywhere.
