Dating your 240Z

Hi all is there a register that i can date my 240Z and check original engine numbers etc. My car is a 1974 N reg original 240 Z RHD UK model i don't think there were many imported that year would be nice to get some history.
On another point do you know of any good body shops around the Midlands that could do a full respray at reasonable cost.

The engine numbers for the cars weren't recorded against the chassis number so unfortunately you can't check if it's always been with the car since the factory - does it still have the plate in the engine bay? If the numbers match there that's a good start.
