Huge fan of the S14a...I've had quite a few of them! I think their price has just about hit rock bottom too so it is a sensible purchase. The 300ZX is just not my cup of tea however. I especially don't like the rear side windows.
Hi, the grey coat you can see in the photo's was applied as soon as the car was sandblasted so it has been sat like that rather than just the bare metal.
Hi, yes the shell is a UK one but the car itself had been in dry storage for ages before we bought it.
As for sandblasting I think we paid £400 per shell but the guy we used has since ceased trading so I am not sure how much it would be now.
Better with a flat colour too as we can flat it back and put a lot more coats on to really make it look fantastic before the lacquer is applied and it has been polished!
The 240Z was like that to start with too, we had them both sandblasted at the same time! For all the headaches the 240 was a very rewarding project and looks absolutely superb now it is finished and on the road.
Hi, well I don't have any up to date pics of the finished article on my mobile phone and the camera is down at the workshop but here is one during the final stages of assembly before the grille and bumper went on. A bit dusty (and blurry) etc but you get the idea.
Found another one from a...
Well after a year or so sitting quietly in the corner of the workshop, mostly being used as a storage vessel for cardboard boxes, the 260Z has been moved to an area where we can get to work on it. The road will be a long one as we have to fit it in with the main running of the business but we...
Seems like a bonkers idea to me as you don't have the budget to support a 240/260 as a daily driver. I'd try running an MGB or something similar to start with to see if you can deal with the expense.
Our 260 is unknown...I checked when I first registered. Won't see the road for another year or two though, it's a shotblasted shell on a stand in the back of the workshop at the moment.
