Z31 Window Motor Woes!

Hello All.

I was wondering if anyone knows of another window motor which is interchangeable with the Z31 motor (drivers side), as mine has packed up. . .

Do any of the other nissan models take the same motor?

As far as I am aware, the assembly is particular to the Z31, although I am sure the actual motor is used alsewhere. Try Ken at ZXS for good secondhand units - 01708 680695, but be aware that this is a common failure, so stocks might be low.

Thanks for the advice...

I have spoke to ken & he is going to check for me tomorrow - so i'm keeping my fingers crossed!!

Other than that, no-one seems to have one.. It is the actual motor that is the problem (a plastic cog has worn down) - the assembly is fine, so if you do know any other motors that will fit I would appreciate the advice...

Unfortunately no luck this time - the unit Ken had in mind had the same fault as mine!

He's got my number, though, so hopefully I might get one soon.....!

PROBLEM RECTIFIED!!!

After searching every scrapyard in the UK (or so if felt! ) i couldnt find any Z31s anywhere. I then happened to stumble on a NISSAN 300C for sale as a complete car for £100. After a bit of research on the 'net I discover that this big boxy "volvoesque" nissan actually uses the same 3.0 V6 & auto gearbox as the Z31 - and hurriedly rush out to buy it as a spares donor car.

The icing on the cake came when I removed the door panel to find - you guessed it - an identical window motor!!!

Thought I'd best post this info as it might assist anyone else looking for spares!
