Wrong car names!

Just watched a programme about car shows and famous cars on tele.

My three pet hates were there to irritate me.

Why do so many people say Astin Martin instead of Aston Martin?

Why do people say Robin Reliant when it should be Reliant Robin (you wouldn't say Focus Ford). And why do people think the car in 'Only Fools and Horses' is a Reliant Robin when it's a Reliant Regal?

I know it's not important, I must be getting old!

T*sser ! I was waiting for someone to say that and you didn't disappoint ! One bad morning and years of devoted following, every book on the planet on my shelves, hours of anoraking just studying the lines of static cars in museums and classic car events and it all gets fluched down the toilet......

I still hate it when people ask of mine "is it a Capri ?" or "is it a Porsche ?" !

People ask if our car is a piece of shit and I say "yes, yes it is..."

I've not seen an s30 on the roads here ever. Graham Potter who used to work here once brought his 260 to work once but it was before I started here (there was a piccy in the office for years, fab looking motor).

Can't remember any other wrong car names but just general ignorance tends to annoy me. People are just complacent and even when you tell them what the correct term is they don't really care. Good job I'm such a "people person"!

Ok, do you pronounce Porsche as "porsh" or "porsha"

For me, its the first, "porsha" sounds like some yuppie "lady what lunches" pet poodle

I do, however, agree with you.......

and I'll add to the list with that Cockney Tosser who presents the BRC on Men & Motors TV - really gets on my T*ts when pronounces it 'Powsh' !
