Got most of the front suspension back on the white car - ready to finish the brakes .

Listed it on eBay for sale .

Went to the garage and got a got 5l of petrol , put it in it. Cleaned plugs etc and started it for the first time in 3 years . Took a couple of goes and fired right up - ran like clockwork .

Fell in love with white car again.

Cleaned and polished - In the process, one of the wires on the low tension side of ignition circuit just “fell off” it’s connector.

When fixed by soldering and crimping, the Z runs even better and more stable at idle. Totally back in love with the Z.

Took some photos of the Z for agreed valuation. Always worth an extra £5k when polished! :p

Oh and the blimmin’ Cusco strut brace was 2mm away from front carb, so “shimmed” the left side upwards for more clearance - why is nothing simple!? I may paint the anodised blue in the same colour as the car - what do you think gang?

Received new rear wheel cylinders today to replace the RockAuto one on the left that appears to have been weeping slightly since installed in 2020! :(

The only question I have to ask myself is do I feel luck? Well, do ya? Punk!? And the answer is NO! The car is working and brakes perfectly well, so it's just too close to Donny to mess it up!

But, on the upside, when I replaced them before, the car had come with 15/16ths wheel cylinders and I COULD NOT find that size to fit the Z, so I went with the 7/8ths. BUT, last week I found some NOS 15/16ths on eBay for pennies, they are for a Laurel - BUT - except for the bores, they have identical sized hole centres and everything else. I preferred the brake balance with the 15/16th on the rear. Don't ask why I can feel it, but it is an extra 15% piston surface area and therefore more braking force at the rear (without being too much) so probably why it's noticeable.

Don't risk it this week!

Got my car back from the rolling road. Very happy with the trip to Caffine & Machine although it was pretty wet. Looking forward for a Spa run now to really get to enjoying it.
That's a really nice curve and some great numbers - must be a joy to drive!
