Twin carb inlet manifold differences

Trying to help someone over here, I've dug up several different model numbers of inlet manifolds for S30s and wondered how many there were (are), their numbers and why ie why one a year and not the next and why in one country and not another....Nissan must have had good reasons !

Another bloody minefield for the restorer....:D

Sean all I know is that there are different lengths and I think the difference is 240/260 specific. I THINK the 260's are shorter?

If that is correct then you could use a 260 on a 240 for more air filter clearance perhaps.

General rule is the longer the inlet tract the more torque it produces in a certain engine. With the longer stroke, maybe they decided they could get by with a shorter tract on the 260 ?

Probably not, but it's a thought :)

There are more models than just 240Z and 260Z......that would be too easy chaps !:D

Yes there is. I did some research on this years ago when I was Racing.
One of the 240 manifolds was generally considered to be good for a few more horsepower. I've still got one on my car.
Unfortunately I ground off the mark so the competition could not see which one it was Lol.

I think it's the N33 version from memory, but there's loads of them.
N46,N27,N54,E88 etc etc

Dunno Sean but it reminds me I must put up for sale me spare set of SU's and manifold :D
