The longest road......

So, we 'inherited' (paid for) the car in 2015...I had started a new job and things looked good, how could I have ever of guessed it would take this long and this amount of graft to get here!

Anyway, she is now getting painted, just a few thousand more miles to go and she will be up and running.

She was black on arrival, and her back was broken had to be supported by a prop on the 4 pillar ramp!

The quality of the work that has gone into the body is second to none, in my opinion, and I am paying, so I would say that, but it has been an epic job....now where are those last bits.....

So was this an original UK RHD car? How bad was the rust?
Yes, it was an original RHD, been in my partner's family since the 1970s. How bad was the rust? I think the roof panel was OK. That was about it in the end, I think every panel including the filler cap cover needed some hand fettling, lots of new panels shipped in, and of course some that may have well been hand-made once they were modified to fit. It is some of the silly little things, like door hinges (well the pins to be precise) that are as difficult to get door skins. It would be nice to think I could drive it one day. It is looking good now, and now attention goes to things like a full engine re-build....or will new seals all round be good enough for now?

DVLA has it listed as black but I don’t think they were available in black when new? Any evidence of the original colour? Untaxed since 1992. Jeez, these things really are still out there. Look forward to seeing more pics of the work done. :):)
I am not sure about that, the reg is HOK 123L, which is also strangely almost a personalised plate for me!

Yes, the colour was changed to black. The green has been matched with the original colour that was in good condition in the tool compartments behind the seats. That is a good point, I will have to get the colour change registered.
