Just finished up this car after several years of time, sweat, and money to bring her back to life.

I started a thread on this forum several years ago called: early 1972 240Z Cali Punt.

Just finished up a BAT Auction today and did not meet reserve at $17,500. Lots of pictures on the BAT site. Reserve was $24,000 plus 10% BAT fees which I thought was reasonable, others were thinking the car should have sold for $25,000 and $30,000. I guess it did not meet reserve for whatever reason, different day = different outcome.

BAT auction: https://bringatrailer.com/listing/1972-datsun-240z-286/

Anywho, gonna offer it up here for $22,500 to absorb the cost of shipping overseas if anyone is looking for a great rust free original Zed.

As usual, I can load the car with performance parts or assist with adding that special set of Panasport Wheels etc.

Regards, Mike

Perhaps 'originality' loses out to a 5speed trans and some other enhancements Mike....?
Yes Sean, maybe the market is changing that direction. However a few weeks, a red 73 Zed with orange engine box and floors and a sunroof sold for $23,000....I just don't get it. Is what it is and I'm happy it was NOT listed "no reserve".

I do have a spare 5 speed, aftermarket exhaust, and Panasports sitting at the shop so maybe later in the year if the car is not sold I will try it again.

Thanks for your input.

On US E-bay today and goes off on Sunday 8/27/23 at 6pm Cali Time.
Reserve lowered under $20K so should sell.....
The market has softened IMO.
Cheers

Looks a great buy Mike. Good luck with the sale.

In the cycle of rise and fall asset price, is now the time for me to start buying again? :)
I think for anyone that has some money set aside, the next year will be a great time to buy and hold a nice quality Zed. In 5 years they will all be way up in value IMO.

I will have a Safari Gold 71 coming up for sale again on BAT in a few weeks so we will see what happens on that one. Just like this 110 Red, if it does not sell on BAT it will go right over to E-bay. Seems I have a lot more overseas buyers watching it on E-Bay and they seem to like the fact that the car has been vetted on BAT first.

She sold on US E-bay for $22K and paid for.

Happy with the price and I think the new buyer got a very nice car for a good price......win win.

On to the next Zed 71 Safari Gold.

I will start a post on that one too just so everyone car see the prices if that's of interest.
