Rear Hatch Locks/Barrel

Has anyone found a source for replacement locks for the rear hatch, apart from MSA, as its around $100 + shipping
The barrel part on the outside, not the actual mechanism that sits underneath,
Ive taken it out, cleaned it, oiled it, and its better, but the action is pretty sloppy and vague.

Well the problem of no key for the tailgate has been solved with one of these -http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/172431457288?_trksid=p2057872.m2749.l2649&ssPageName=STRK:MEBIDX:IT - although not listed as Z, after looking at the pictures I took a punt.

It fits perfectly, but the way the arm is located means that will not rotate away from the latch for the locked position. The original rotates from 12 oclock to 3, whereas as the new lock comes it's 3 to 6. However 5 minutes with a couple of files adapted the original arm (which is cranked rather than straight) to fit and hey presto we now have locking and unlocking and 2 keys.

So pleased I also changed the drivers door lock
 
Nice one, sounds like an easy fix as well :thumbs:

Another job back on the 'to do list' do these cars ever get really finished!
