That’s my point, every time a Z comes up for sale people on here can’t wait to rip it apart and nit pick without seeing it in the flesh, plenty of Zeds for sale asking silly money,

I've always wondered this, plenty of people queuing up on here to do so every time an advert gets listed.

Yes I've seen better ads before however it seems that people want to pull apart every little detail each time one goes up for sale for reasons unknown to me

Your cars a prime example, terrible over popular colour. Lhd which is worthless outside the USA, worth 5k tops.

I’ll give you 6k just to save the embarrassment of trying to make a safe overtake. :)

I don't think anyone is 'ripping it apart' - and to me, you can see enough in the photos to know this is not a £29k car (to me, anyway)

The opening shot - beautiful paint - and a ***** looking spoiler that looks as if it's had no work done to it at all. How anyone could even screw that on in that state is beyond me!

What are we supposed to do - say , yes it's lovely?

You are right Franky,it’s cos it’s a Ford ,there is still a stigma with most about jap cars from the seventies especially rotting away, well for those old enough to remember all the BL cars rotted just as much the Vauxhall’s were know for rotting but had good engines the fords all rotted Italian cars,I won’t even go there and the few from froggy land so really they were all rot boxes, now I’m showing my age and do I wish I still had the 1600E, Mexico ect Naagh cos they don’t get near a Zed .That 260 looks ok but I can see bits that ain’t right without even seeing it in the flesh,to start with ,and this is only a little thing,For a 29K car I would’ve got the light surrounds done properly it really sticks out badly in my eyes,ok they cost a lot of dosh to get done but the asking price is high,

Well I have a mint (and I mean mint) RS2000 Mk1 and for me growing up it was THE car to have so that's why I have it. I would sell the Z before the Escort if I had to make a choice though

The Z was a great car too as I remember seeing them as a nipper. I think they're a cut above the Fords, much more expensive new and aimed at a different market I guess.

As a point of interest the Escort gets far far more comments from joe public too so I guess that proves a general theory. The peoples car

I'm not suggesting some of the comments made over this car aren't accurate Mike, I agree I've seen nicer ones for less money as well however it was more an observation that whenever a new for sale add gets brought up on here then people seem to enjoy nit picking....

IDK, at first, in the past I've sort of felt the same about people picking at the cars, but TBH, most, if not all comments are fair to say on this car and as said in the past on many other threads. For the non Z'ders looking to buy the information can be invaluable, especially if the finer detail is pointed out by those in the know .Perhaps less colourful language in describing some faults could be welcome, but hey ho, it is what it is and as someone said, "What are we supposed to say.. it's fabulous"... etc.

Yes, in some aspects one can only comment once seen in the flesh, but some photo's leave little to the imagination. My only question is re values, and as said here and on many other posts, value is determined by the buyer and what it's worth to him/her. That's my take, for what its worth.
