yeah, understand wot yer saying their Sean, but there's no shortage of participation by the other owners in the form of put downs regarding the zx is there?????

it just seems a shame to me that, as a z forum, theres so much negative about the zx, after all, we, as z owners, get hassle from other classic owners about the Datsun marque in general.

so, come on, lets all RESPECT each others DATSUNS and get on with the job of enjoying our cars.

and anyway, we all know the common enemy are Fords!!!!

I wasn't saying they were cr@p, I was just pointing out the relative merits of the 280ZX, as a modern machine in it's day!
I owned a Capri (JPS mk2) for 4 years in the early '80s and I've had to defend them too, just like the 280ZX now!

I think we all know the 'enemy'. the 1.0 nova 'trip' with copiuos amounts of plastic to weigh down its already unimpressive 0-60 time of 30 seconds. Not that he ever does 0-60, unless its down a heavily suburbanised street with children playing in the road. Normally he is happy to listen to the pop of his 7 inch backbox mated to the factory standard 1/2" exhaust as he drives in circles around McDonalds.

So dont slate my ZX :D


Irishzlad, nah not yet. Got the dreaded haynes though. much as you hate 'em, best to have one to hand. I'll get the rest come payday ;)

Mr F is probably the best person to answer your auto to manual swop.The problem with the auto car, is that it runs out of revs!i.e 5K revs equates to about 100mph and 6K... 120mph!So a manual car should be able to pull higher speeds, but I suppose the diff would need changing too!

Hi Danny -just in case your'e interested, we have just brought in two 280ZX 2+2's for breaking, with some pretty good parts on them still, including a Kaminari front spoiler.

Yeah I noticed from the article that you were in N Yorks, a very nice run from me. good roads.

I will definately be giving you a call at some point. Front spoiler sounds good. but I will have to see how funds go. Moving house at the mo :(

By the way, I know I'm carrying this thread on a bit now and its kinda changing the subject, but good forum, chaps. seems very friendly and from what I have read in articles and on here, extremely knowledgable.
