Hi guys I'm James but most people call me Roachy
I've just brought myself a 73 240z as a project.
Also have a rb25 powered s14a 200 which infortunatly crashed a few weeks ago so I could be goin for a conversion.
So anyway hope to fins out more info from here and make some new friends

Will post some up when I get it. Guy only lives down the road from me and its not fully uncovered yet (he's got a few cars stored :) )

Yeah mine was rust in the usual spots liiiiike underneath lol.
I can weld (sorta) not the best but im a fast learner. Also I'm hoping that the guy I'm gettin it of might give me a few lessons as he restores mk1 and 2 escorts for a living so he can defiantly weld lol

Welcome James.
Always good to see new members taking on a project. Do keep us updated with some pictures of your progress.
A well restored Zed will only go up in value so take your time and do the job right. Good luck.

Thanks
I'm not going to be to ambitious with it, I no that its not going to see 2014. Which hurts me to say because I'm quite impatient lol

G'day mate !!!!!!!!!!!!!!! were all impatient when it comes to restoration etc

Welcome. Not fully ocovered project? Sounds like this is going to be fun for you. Dont forget all the sorry stage photos as it's always nice to see the contrast of your achievement.

Are you taking it home or having it restored at the place it's at?

Welcome to the Z club!

I'm a relatively recent member and can tell you that you've joined a mine of valuable knowledge / experience!

Your impatience resonates with me greatly!! Being time poor and only getting the odd couple of hours now and then, I have an ever growing box of bits in the study itching to go on the car ;)

Looking forward to seeing your project photos. And Rose is right get lots of the before photos!!!

Yeah not fully uncovered yet. He has told me that it needs welding underneath but assures me that its minimal. Also he tells me that its never been welded either. Not sure weather that's a good thing or not at the moment lol.
I'm hoping that ill be able to go down there and have a good look around and underneath it this weekend.
I don't realy know when I'm going to have time to start the z tho what with full time work and also my s14a I have I need to strip and ill be turning that into a pick up v8 for track use.
So with all that going on I think I'm goin to be very Busy.

If it's not been welded then that 'usually' means it's passed it's MoT's ok . I wonder what the last MoT was like and why it was taken off the road.

S14a - has it got a good gearbox? They are great in a Z (with some mods). Don't try to do too much at once .

Will find out soon enuf.
My 14a has an Rb25det conversion with rb20det box.
I'm not sure weather the motor in the z is any good yet. If it is I shall be keepin that in it but if its nakered then ill be putting my rb in it.
So only time will tell on which route ill be taking
