Hi All,

Just thought I'd put up a few photos of my Datsun (wanted to see what you guys thought, and to get some tips / ideas on how to improve it!)

Few questions too:

-Where can i get a new front grille and can you get a variety of different styles or just the standard?
-Is there any way i can smarten up the dashboard? the plastic has a few cracks in it and it'd be great to get those fixed (if possible)?
-Door cards, does anyone know where i could go to get my door cards re-trimmed and restored? i.e new chrome/wooden strips and leather.

Many thanks in advance!
Guy

Oh also, does anyone know where i could get some bucket seats for a good price? i'll probably end up getting them re-trimmed too, so i can have orange beading or something.

Beautiful Z! Looks great in that color!

For the dashboard, there are caps available, at least for LHD. I have no idea how easy it would be to source a crack-free RHD dash, at least for LHD it's very difficult. You could also sand and fill the cracks, and repaint the whole dashboard with a structure paint.

Doorcards ar available online in many different stores.

I wouldnt touch it, it looks really nice.
If you doo too much will just lower its appeal and value.
Just keep it maintained and rust at bay, leaves you more time to enjoy driving it.

Car looks lovely, if it drives as nicely as my 260 does you must love it.

Only things I can see that I would smarten up are the crossmember/steering rack and the engine mounts plus degrease the engine block and change the suspension mounting bolts for new stainless or chrome ones and polish up the brake cylinder caps.

RE. the dashboard you can get a cap/skin which goes over the original dash or you can fill/fibreglass the cracks and then paint it with the appropiate paint, or flock it if you like that sort of thing.

IMO:

Yep as Andrew says don't do too much, your car looks amazing just spend the money on meeting us - bring it to Mallory Park on 18 May!

Gear knob - get a nice tactile wooden one to match the steering wheel.

Seats - yep they look tired - but please don't get orange ones or orange trimming. Good black top quality recliners (with support) would be best. Too much Orange = ' You've been Tango'd '.

Door cards - keep an eye out for good standard ones - it may take a while.

Great car - don't rush into anything.

Looks great!

Agree on the keeping it original, there is something raw about how an old car looks inside.

Mr.F can get you new brake reservoir caps, or at least they were still available a few years ago when I ordered new.

Looks great as it is just small details need tidying as said keep it original as possible has a classic charm about it then

Uprate the brakes, suspension and engine. That's just what I'd do but depends what you want to use it for?
Looks wise what the guys have said just a bit of detailing here and there. The car looks fabulous.

Very nice.

Just noticed that the holes for the vents from the front panel to the air tubes have been patched over?

Tbh, aesthetically from looking it online and not up close it’s a head turner.

You see, the s30 is getting pretty good attention at the moment and a lot of people are going through the motions,

Adding riveted arches
Calling Rare Rims and ordering 17” RB / RBX’s

My thought is that will this all look odd in a few years time or will it last?
I think it would be good that the little things are tidied up as the devil is in the detail.

Best of luck mate.

i would make the most of the good weather and use the car and look at doing any upgrades over winter
