Stressful!Well I had a bit of horrifying moment yesterday when I checked the air tag location. The car was in San Diego over the weekend before being dropped off at the port in LA on Monday. I had been checking up on the location in San Diego yesterday, I saw it start to move again and assumed it would head north to LA to be dropped off as planned. When I checked again later it had traveled south further and was stopped 5 min from the border to Mexico!

Naturally I assumed it had been stolen and my precious Datsun was about to disappear into Mexico forever. So I started panic-calling the shipping company and truck driver. No one would pick up the phone but fortunately the truck driver responded via text and confirmed he still had the car and just needed to pick up another car from near the border and then he would go up to LA.
I watched the tracker as it headed back up north and now the shipping portal has been updated that it's been dropped off at the port, so everything is okay. Nearly gave me a heart attack though, it's going to be a long couple of weeks. Bit of a blessing and a curse having the air tag too...
That brings back memories from 1977. My sister lived in San Diego so I went over for 5 weeks to coincide with the F1 GP at Long Beach. Went down to Ensenada via Tijuana. My little cousin in the picture (Baja peninsula) was 50 last week!Well I had a bit of horrifying moment yesterday when I checked the air tag location. Anything short of it falling off the container ship or getting stolen I can fix... and even then maybe a harebrained rescue mission would be in orderHave to let us know if the tag doesn't move above the marianas trench
Hope it arrives in good shape but if your that worried about it you shouldn’t be bringing it to the ukFinally have a bit of an update--the Z is officially on its way here, the ship is estimated to arrive in the UK sometime late March. Unfortunately it just sat at the shipping office in LA for a month since they were waiting on another car to fill up the container... which if I had known that I would've just left it in my parent's garage where it had been for the last 3 months.
I asked them if they could at least store it inside and they said they did, but we'll see. Under my ownership it's never sat outside for more than 1 night, and I religiously cover the un-cracked dash (Which of course I left completely uncovered because I had no idea it was going to sit outside). I'm dreading receiving it with a cracked dash and yellowed epoxy on all my composite panels.
Oh well, as long as it actually makes it here, everything else can be fixed.
Ac Bins have moved a few cars for me and have all the right kit for a low car . https://www.bing.com/alink/link?url...33BA9927681F&ypid=YN1029x16337969775188933125Finally have a bit of an update--the Z is officially on its way here, the ship is estimated to arrive in the UK sometime late March.
