Season starts this weekend under the lights in Qatar. Should be one of the most competitive seasons in many years, and last year of the 800cc's.

Cal Crutchlow is very local to me. He was at a party my daughter was at and when my lad tested his MotoX bike at Mallory Park last year Cal was riding an MX bike for the fun - and he was the quickest!
Quite a character. Think he's had a crash recently though.
I used to watch Sheene and Roberts, then Randy Mamola, Freddie Spencer, Ron Haslam etc etc Remember Will Hartog in his white leathers.
My hero - Mike Hailwood, seen him riding a few times. How old am I !

Yep, Cal has been doing pretty well considering he's just getting started. He lost the tip of his little finger on the last day of practice when his finger got caught between the bars and the ground during a low side crash. He bacame one of my favorites when he went nose to nose with Biaggi on the podium after Biaagi got a bit pissy. I had the pleasure of watching Roberts, Lawson, Rainey, Spencer, and all the 70's greats at Lagina Seca while I was still a snot nosed teenager.

Rob, you must be as old as me, reading the names of those riders. Remember them well. I raced around Mallory in the 70's.
Did you ever hear the MV Agusta's racing there. Unbelieveable sound - I dont think I have ever heard a sound that compare since!!!
