Low compression

Been offered an original rhd 240z
The engine apparently needs work doing as it has low compression.
Question is who's best to rebuild these engines.
Also would any upgrades be advised whist rebuild is done
Cheers

The internet is your friend (as well as this forum). You could lose days easily by searching google for this stuff - the US forums alone are awash with it. It’s all down to what you want the car to be for you. And budget of course …

Doe sit currently run and drive . Has the current owner done a compression test , if so is it all 6 cylinders that are low?

More important is the body condition. My first 240Z had poor compression and a rotten body. 🤣

The engine was knackered (including broken piston rings) but it ran and I toured Scotland in it!

Would chat with Fourways or Paul Exon about a rebuild!
Cam, bigger valves, exhaust, should wake it up. Make some nice noise and surprise the BMW, Audi's, VW's and others in the roundabouts.
Enjoy.

Engines are relatively cheap and simple to replace - I'd be more concerned with the body panels and rust. If the rest of the car is solid (and priced with the engine work required in mind) then it wouldn't put me off
