Is this worth it? 1977 260z

This sort of stuff makes me mad!
I really wanted to abuse the owner on ebay, but resisted.

The car by the looks of it is not worth it. Its most valuable as parts only. So will likly be broken up.
Too many people trying to make money the easy way!! by ripping enthusiasts off who are desparately trying to keep their pride and joy on the road.
Whoever this guy is his morel standards need a look at.
I make my money the old fashioned way, with skill and hard graft, but I sleep easy at night!!:(

Your right there Andrew,

To many people these day snap up a classic car cheap just to put it on ebay with 'RARE' in the title trying to rip some one off :(

What do you mean not worth it, Andrew? It's a "solid shell". Does yours not have those same ventilation holes in the rear quarters and valance?

And invariably something along the lines of "we all know what these are worth" somewhere in the description. Groooaaaan. And why are the descriptions almost always written entirely in caps, with no punctuation and every other word misspelled?

Mine had a 3ft hole in the rear quarter till this week.:D
I thought mine was pretty solid till I really started to dig. So this shell will have 10 times the amount of rust you can see in the pics. I would be possible to save it, but who would take it on?.Iit would have to be almost given away to make it viable! :D
To do these cars right takes a lot of time effort and cash at least that what I am finding out.
Just spent two hours refurbushing my petrol door to be ready for welding the hinge back on!! I probably could have made a new one almost as fast?

If I was not going on holiday I would have a look at it as its only 10 mins up the road from me but I have never heard of the place where it is will try to when I get back:thumbs:

Went to go and view this when it was owned by a gentleman in Bournemouth. I would honestly advise you to avoid this and see if anything else comes up. My father came with me to view it and though he has been restoring classic cars for 20 years or so he said that even he would think twice before taking this on!

I should add that I am also a student and was looking for my first Z to restore, and as I have practically no experience (yet!) in restoration I was wisely advised to give this one a miss!

Hope this helped you out, good luck!

Well said - nice to see someone else who appreciates good grammar and correct spelling!

I will be in the same boat as you over the coming years, I've currently got my z32 twin turbo, but once were into our new house and settled(realisitically 2 years), I will be looking to start a new project, as a stable mate for the current z. I've thought about a fair few models and my heart keeps coming back to a 240/60, and it would be great to have the two best fairlady models sat in my little collection. Whether it will be with my price range when it comes down to it god knows, whether the vg block will be coming out again for a refresh instead, possibly time will tell. Good luck in your search.
