Hi all the next meeting at gurston down is nearly here. 29th (practice) 30th (race day) August. As usual there will be a large number of single seater race cars there as it is a national round. Nick Mann is on the entry list in his Mannic Beatie.
We are running in the mod prod class and using the weekend as some extra seat time before the final round in september.
Anyone want tickets or join us saturday night for a bit of a BBQ let me know.

Chris and I are hopefully going to be joining you this year (hopefully we will not jinx the timing system or weather!!!!) - look forward to see you both again

are you stopping over saturday night and do you want food. I need to know numbers for the small farmyard we are planning to sacrifice.

only 1 run in the afternoon as it is a national
830am practice run
1030 am first timed run
130pm second timed run
top 12 run off at the end of timed run 1 and 2
normally finished around 4pmish

all times are approx

Yes we will be there Saturday night - I can bring a few farm yard offerings

I am happy to make up a batch of lamb burgers (made with mint/chilli/ginger/coriander) if you want

If I can get my car back together in time I'll come Saturday, how much is it please? I won't really need catering for and will bring some beers :)

Cheers

Well just back form a wet and dismal gurston absolutely knackered but really chuffed with a good weekends motorsport.

Saturday practice was dry and Dee put to good use some advise she had been given a couple of weeks ago by starting the practice runs on a 43 second run followed by 2 41 second runs

Then the BBQ and evening frolics began in earnest. Suzy and Chris had arrived just after lunch and joined us for the evening. Sheltering from the breeze in a coral we had formed with the motorhomes. Much frivolity ensued with the invention of the chocolate sausage during the BBQ.

Russ even managed to arrive at something on the right day even if it was late. Good to see you buddy.

Sunday practice was dry and again Dee showed her confidance by setting a 41 second practice run, with a finish line speed of 87mph.Then for the first timed runs the drizzle started to fall and it set in for the day. I had a scrappy run but stopped the clock on 37 seconds with the Morgan recording a 38 second run.

I bought the car back to the paddock and asked Dee if she wanted me to put the wet tyres on for her run. She had made her mind up to try the slicks in the damp as this was an experimental weelend.By the time she got to the tyre warming area it had stopped drizzling. A cautious start with too few revs on a now grippy startline resulted in the car almost stalling but recovering well and pushing on hard Dee still recorded another 43 second run.

With heavier rain setting in over lunch it was obvious that the times would not get any quicker so I had a class win in the bag. My afternoon run was therefore a chance to play for the marshals and spectators and with the track now very greasy I left the line on slicks. Once at the karousel complex the object was to have the car as out of shape for as long as possible and I think I acheived this by the reaction of the marshals on my way back down the hill.

All that is left now for us is the season final on 13th Sept where I will bring the pink hat home to where it belongs.

Big thanks to Suzy, Chris and Russ for turning out to support. It is not compulsory to bring the rain with you but was really good to see you there.

Fantastic news and fantastic result.

Who'd have thought Russ would make it there :)

Congrats Ben and Dee, wish I could've been there but a wet and windy Oulton Park kept me away. :)

I know I know, was awesome to see the 240 in action and stamping it's authroity as usual :) Really interesting mix of vehicles as well. Nice to see you all again, sorry I couldn't be there sooner or stay longer (didn't even have time to put the tent up!) but real life crap spoiling things again.

Will definitely be back though, hopefully for the school again next year with Chris and Suzy. Attaching some photos, have about a million videos but they need some editing so will do those one day.

Thanks again and well done both of you! Nice to see the ZClub.net sticker as well thanks :D

Great weekend
Good to see you Russ, will set a date for the hill climb school next year, It could be a Z32 challenge (my NA, your TT and Chris V8!!!!) - anyone want to join us?

Big thanks to Dee and Ben for everything - even the chocolate sausage experience!!
(The timing gear held up dispite our being there!)

I'll post this up on the 300 site. There will almost certainly be a decent amount of interest for this as there are a lot of South West peeps on there (all with Z32's). Should be interesting to say the least!

THANKFULLY it's not timed :D But we could see who improves most, otherwise I'm running a slicktop with some extra boost so my car should be very competitive, however the driver may be the weak link :D

I didn't know they made anything other than trailers either! Was surprised to see one :)
