Hi all,
My 240Z, which I only use on the road, came with shortened 280Z strut housings with weld on perches and coilover sleeves, and with Ground Control 'Advanced Design' inserts. (The car is fully heim jointed and also has front and rear swaybars.)
I'm currently running 250lb/ft front and 250lb/ft rear springs, and with the inserts set to their softest bump and rebound settings, the car still rides incredibly stiff. It's worth noting that the previous owner ran the car with 400lb/ft springs in the front (and 250lb/ft in the rear).
I'm not sure what specs the inserts are valved to, but reading other posts on this forum and on other sites, with the ride quality I get using the above spring rates I'm guessing the inserts have been built to be very firm.
It's hard to find any info at all online about the Ground Control inserts so I wondered if anyone here has any experience with them at all? From the little I have read it seems like they're designed for race purposes, need regular rebuilding, and aren't really suited for road use.
