Excellent. Digging the gold top Burny Super Grade! I’m trying to persuade not to bid on an 80s Burny Les Paul Custom in Japan tomorrow...

I've got a couple of Burny's, a modern SG(it's ok, was pretty cheap(bought SH), does what it should) and the wonderful 1980's Super Grade Gold Top, which IMHO although it weighs a ton is fantastic. A old friend of mine and a great luthier of over 40 years says it's one of the best sub £4000 Les Pauls he's handled. I bought it from Japan about 12 or so years ago. If I remember correctly I paid about £400 - £450 for it. It's worth quite a bit more these days ;) I keep thinking about trying to source another one EXTRA;)
Did you bid on the one you were looking at?

Yeah, I did. It actually got extended and I was bidding about an hour ago. Lost though! A bummer because I really want a white LP Custom and it was a good one for really cheap. There will be others though. 80s-early 90s Burnys, or Grecos are plentiful in Japan. It’s just a matter of waiting for one in the condition one wants.

Yeah early Burny's are great, really great value, and Grecos & Tokai's. I have a 1983-84 Tokai strat that I've had for over 30 years, again it's bloody great. A mate of mine bought it and couldn't be bothered to learn how to play so I gave him £60 for it. A steal really :EXTRAcool: EXTRA:D :smoke:
