hi,
can anyone tell me how difficult it is to remove the fuel tank on a 77 260z please?
if there are any recommendations or pointers i should be aware of before/during removal i would greatly appreciate it.
i have done some googling and i have been led to believe the weak points on the fuel system is a rubber boot connecting piece between the tank and filler neck?
if this is the case and mine gets damaged during removal can they still be bought?

regards

It's been a while since I did it (on a 240 mind you), I can't remember any issues. You just undo the two traps and loosen the jubilee clip around the filler tank rubber boot around the tank.

Took longer to put back in since you need to try to install it squarely so you get the rubber boot back onto the tank, much easier with another pair of hands when reinstalling.

My rubber boot suffered no damage and I just reused it, I've not heard of them being weak.

You also have the breather hose or hoses depending on what market your car is. When the tank is free from the straps and as you drop the tank you will need to undo them.
