Engine not reving out.

OK, thought I'd round this thread up with what eventually turned out to be the solution !!

There were lots of mods and upgrades along the way, and I'll cover those in another thread, but none of them cured the lack of desire to rev past the early 6000 revs. The final mod proved to be the answer, that being competition spec valve springs, now a set of new std spec springs would also probably have done it as well. Simply the springs in the refreshed engine that came in the car were shagged.

So I now have a 240 spec engine that is happy to pull hard to 7000, and probably further, but I'm on std pistons and I understand they don't like that :)

Good to here you have it sorted Mike it was not easy getting to the bottom of it but you persevered and found the fault. Hope to watch you tear up the tarmac at Craigantlet again this year.

Hi Mike
Strange that the springs were shagged on that motor as it had been recently fitted to the car?
I noticed that I have the exact same ram stacks in my filters as yourself as well.
Would love to hear about all the mods I know that you were contemplating a cam upgrade, do you have any rolling road figures?

Cheers
