Cylinder head leak

I have fitted a new head gasket to my l26 (which has no previous issues) I have just filled with water and straight away water is leaking out down either side between block and head ,it looks like it haven’t been tightened down , but it has.. any ideas?

wrong gasket? what was the gasket sold as? from memory, f54 l28 blocks have coolant holes in different places to earlier blocks and earlier blocks have holes outside the later gaskets. or something like that.
Alternatively, your head might be warped. why did you change the gasket in the first place?

I removed the head to get it ported but plans changed…
