CHTS ecu reading

ECCS - re 1987 turbo Z31. The FSM US version, EFEC -30 sets out a fail safe in the ecu where an abnormal chts reading (faulty or disconnected) results in the ecu working to a pre-set assumed temp based on time since ignition start.

Although my Z runs ok with the 500ohm resistor in line (it stalls after warm up without it), I'm thinking as it runs good when just disconnected, that I might as well just leave it disconnected if the ecu assumes a pre set value.

Only concern is that the fail safe isn't mentioned in the Euro FSM.

Is it likely to be the same?
