bump steer spacers/ steering knuckles 240z

If they are the same length as the NISMO steering knuckles, which I think are 10mm shorter than OEM, then the answer is "not much", however smaller steering wheel and wider road wheel could make a lot of difference
Thanks

I will be getting wider wheels, currently running 6" wide wheels but will be moving to 7" (possibly 8") and if I fit arch flare will be running 8.5" on the front with probably 245 tyres. I realise this will have a big increase on steering effort at loe speeds but no idea just how much. Is it a big difference?

I also plan on fitting a new steering wheel but I'll try and get a 360mm wheel to help at low speeds.

245 seems wide for a front tyre on 1000kg car? a bmw m3 evo, 1500+kg and 321bhp used 225.

Have you or do you use the shorter Nismo knuckles? If so how much difference do you notice with regards to the steering being quicker?

Me?

Yes I do, but mine have been on the car so long I've forgotten how much difference they made to the quickness of the steering, I seem to think I've seen people say they make the steering 15% quicker though.......but I could be wrong

I've run 9X15 and currently 8X15 wheels both with 225/50/15 tyres and a 330mm or 350mm, can't remember which one, steering wheel, its a bit heavy turning the wheel when stationary but as soon as your moving its fine

I wish my car weighed 1000kg, I think they are closer to 1100kg.

Yeah, thats quite a wide trye and would be the maximum I'd go, it all depends on which way I go with the engine. I hope to be running a built L28/L30 soon so 215 or 225 would be a far better option but I'm thinking about changing to an RB26DETT in the not too distant future and may want to have the maxiumum grip available. (thats assuming I don't love the L series to much to change it)

Its certainly worth trying, as imo the steering is a bit slow as stock.

I'm well used to no power steering as my other car doesn't have any either (thats the way I like it) so I would expect the steering to be fine once moving, but the Datsun is definitly heavier at low speeds than the EF is so I'll definitly have to get used to parking it if I go for wider tyres and a smaller wheel.

Hows the overall feel of your steering with the wider tryes, smaller wheel and quicker rack?

Thanks

I run Nismo quick steering links, I love them. Great on the Scottish upland roads, I sometimes frequent, with loads of corners, changes in direction. Make a more enjoyable drive. Though I am running 205 tyres and standard steering wheel. A bit more of an effort at parking speeds, but nothing I can't handle.
