    1971 240z Race car

Thanks - yes and even now the auctineers caveat reads like a minefield....still could be an inexpensive entry into classic racing or 'merely' a fun track-day car.....are those kit-car seats really FIA homologated ?

    1971 240z Race car

Nice one Alan, thanks. A lot of "works" in the Bonhams' advert text....any particular competition history from this car ?

    Sad loss of Spike Anderson

RIP Spike, loved by many (and unloved by some) - you didn't leave people 'on the fence'. I'm glad that your last years were being loved, under the sunshine in the good life.

    1971 240z Race car

It wouldn't however there are various EEC race-weekends in which it would be accepted - otherwise, there are plenty of open pit-road trackdays available everywhere to forget about work and the office for a day !

No, I'm sulking empty-handed. More seriously, it'll be a commando run, with my daughter in tow and I not a soical tour. Keep the beer cool for when we can tlk seriously about 280ZX exhausts (notre the plural) and strut-bars. :)

    Wheels, Bumpers, Seats, light surround.

With no holes to fit the rubbers, those aren't original as in OEM, nice tho.

    L28 to 3.0 and above

Agreed and with Subaru LSDs still commonly available, not 'too' expensive. Next tho is a less strangling exhaust system.

    L28 to 3.0 and above

Beg pardon (discreet 'f' in there) :) so a one-eighter, nice. Yes, unless you're going to run sustained high revs and even then, racing teams have see enormous successes with reliability without. Good for you - enjoy....at which % of its' potentiel ?
  14. SeanDezart

    L28 to 3.0 and above

225whp is 270 crank....from triple 40s on an L28 ? a billet steel crank at £3k is a waste of money imho - how many more revs are you gonna run (and where) than a stock of LD version ?

    L28 to 3.0 and above

I can't tell how much 'power' that guy has from the video. If you literally want to be thrown back in your seat then bite the bullet and go for a good stroker - if you were near me, I'd let you drive mine to prove the point.

    L28 to 3.0 and above

Then you'll want torque and/or a low-ratio diff, lightened flywheel, reasonably sized wheels (14/15"), better tyres and don't switch your engine off asap after the run.

    260Z lower front valance/lip

No, you dug a well of knowledge - we all learn from exchanges, thx

    L28 to 3.0 and above

Good points Neil - a mild L28 on twin SUs can keep a grin on anyone's face, even the wife's with your more modest budget and frugal engine.

    260Z lower front valance/lip

I find your descriptions might be confusing for the rookies : OEM look that replicates the front centre valence and both corners (3x pcs) - shown on my wifes' gold 280Z with black paint along the bottom (and anthraciteon my white 240Z) to imply the presence of the OEM rubber 'lip' The...
