Well that's where the art of admin comes in. it should be believable and preferably by backed up with photos and a convincing story to say the least - but you are quite right such things are prone to manipulation, hence why I say the club should be able to reasonably delete posts which are anti-supplier and look like they are just malicious.

As for my previous post, I'm not implying that the club is sheltering bad traders but I am saying that just like the above situation, the club should reasonably expect to watch out for the opposite, and that I have seen this happen all too often - where forums become polarised favouring one or the other.

It's all about balance, and what I'm saying is that club admins should be able to step in an reasonably delete posts which are of no value to members. They can't overly favour suppliers and they can't overly favour members. Balance is important both ways. Hope it makes sense.

Just my opinion having managed technical support and forums for a blue chip company with a around 5 billion pound turnover in my previous job - (Don't ask - I'm sooo glad I no longer do it LOL).

Guys it's been fun but I've gotta get on - but I'll leave you with this thought.

I was told that my story sounded familiar indeed by more than one person. I even had something along the lines of "What, no one warned you?".

So there are people who will share their experiences but I guess you have to have to post about yours before you get to meet them :)

But who deems what is true? There is no guarantee that what is written on the internet by someone is true. There are lots of liars and/or exaggerators unfortunately.

Would you trust a 'certificate of authenticity'?

Wot for a Samuri ? corse I wood. :D

As far as the Z Farm is concerned I am staying well out of all that.

Just to add that I have not received a complaint about any of our official 'Traders'.

Why would you receive such Rob ?

What would any plaintiff expect you and/or The Z Club to do with such information ?

I don't even live your (the collective 'you') side of the water and I know who to trust and who not (and why) AND I have a handful of unhappy stories about most of them and a fair few are quite recent.

Nobody is worried what this does to the Z scene within the UK.....and outside ?

If we rush to reccommend people, the opposite should be applied imho.....how it is done can be organised with some brain-storming and the upcoming forum review for which we're patiently waiting.

For me the worst part about owning cars like mine is finding people who know what they are doing, do a good job and you can trust. Very few of them from my experience and I'm always wary of trying new people.

Think the quick way round this is to only mention/talk about traders that are good?
Sooner or later the bad ones will fade into memory and their names won't keep coming up in searches etc?

Any publicity is good publicity as they say, therefore:
If you can't say anything bad, don't say anything at all! :)

I think having read the Gazette entry most folks understand that Z Farm / Duncan Pearcey declared bankruptcy in 2015

I would certainly like to know if anyone on this forum has a car with them, orders for parts, outstanding claims or is owed anything by them and if they have contacted the Receiver?

Has anyone transacted with after 18 September ?

Think that's a very reasonable question to ask.

I am a member of a car club where a club official is in charge of a list called the Good Bad and Ugly list, members can submit their reviews on a company, good or bad and the club official updates the list... The list is available by pdf to any member on request and is a value added service offered by the club.

It's helpful as you can have one company with differing reviews and you can make your own mind up.

As a club we should be promoting the good and bad suppliers.

Who's going to go looking for a car, by sending messages asking opinions? How do they know they're getting a balanced and honest one?
