Hey guys, I've stalked the site for a while now and have owned my Z since March of this year. I've currently stripped it down to the chassis and I'm doing extensive repair work to it. Was thinking about getting a project thread up for it to show you lot, have some place where all the work is documented and I can take in advice at the same time.
I love doing as much work to a car as possible rather than sending it off somewhere to get fixed - it helps I'm a classic car engineer working on '70 MG B and Midget's.
This is the car when I got her:

Hi welcome and yes please let's see your project on here.

It will be interesting to know your views on restoring a Z compared to a 'B or Midget.

Many people on here know these cars very well (like you with your specialism) so hopefully you will get your questions answered.

Don't be tempted to throw rusty panels (or anything) away until you are sure you can get a replacement. Parts are a lot harder to source than for say a 'B.

I'll start by advising you that the front valence (not the spoiler) on your car is an American 280Z part probably fitted because the original was rotten or perhaps the rounded shape was preferred. If you already know that sorry.

I've started a thread up in the restoration section of the website. If anyone would like to take a look.

The customers I have are very strict on staying standard and original very much the opposite of my opinion.

Thank you very much for the information. I did not know that.
