Hi Wes
Tried phonlng the companies who advertise in the club magazine on your behalf Livingstones and Crossgate confirmed that they could not insure anyone under 25 on a classic policy, got held in a phone queue with AON and Heritage so got no info from them
Tried phoning some other companies and came up with CLASSIC CLUB DIRECT and was told that they could insure 21 year olds on a classic policy and if you gave them a ring on 0800 298 2754 they try and sort out your insurance
Thier opening hours are 8.30 to 6.30 Mon/Fri and 9.00 to 2.00 Sat
If other owners sent in thier recomendations on thier insurance companies a list could then be posted on the site for members use

Hi Wes, I used to insure my car with Jardine Faber when i was under 25, I had quotes at about £350, for my 260z on a 5000 a year policy.. worth trying out..

Find it strange about how few replies there are regarding insurance companies that Z owners are using so have moved a topic on insurance on hybred cars from the 240/260 grouping to try and get some responce on which companies are the most popular with the view of compiling a list of companies and what they specialise in ie Classic, Z32, Young drivers, Modified etc to post on the site to widen the choice for members
Pete Parmenter told me recently that some one he knows insured his 300ZX with Tescos So who knows where the best deals are

andyp's site 300zx.org.uk contains a comprehensive list of insurance companies including phone nos and websites that insure 300ZXs and would be worth a call to see if they would insure other Zs

Received the following email
Steve
For what its worth, I contacted broker Quoteline Direct (0870 422 94 95) for insurance on my Z31 Nissan 300ZX turbo.
Rather than transfer my full NCB from my VW Golf to the ZX, which has been off the road for several years and therefore no NCB buildup, they offered to insure both cars with full NCB.
The 300ZX premium insurance, fully comp, was £344 for me (over 25 years) and limited to 4000 miles per annum. I took my insurance though them this year.... the companies in the zclub mag were not very competative I thought
Hope this is useful for possible insurance topic -I'd be interested in other peoples recommendations.
cheers

We too, found the Companies in the Z Club Mag to be expensive.Firebond were the cheapest in the end.

Recently i have had a problem with one of the magazine advertised ins.co. as they thought i was valuing cars too high!! & i had to prove my credentials etc & fight very hard for a zed club member (300zx 32).It is very difficult for people under 25 to get insurance on classics!! but best advice is to ring around as many as you can & especially if you have access to the internet there are lots of companies around & you will be amazed at the different quotes ,i recently tried to get a qoute on a high performance jap import(twin turbo subaru) & stuggled even though i am 38 clean license etc but eventually i got a qoute at a very reasonable cost so try INSURE YOUR MOTOR .COM as they cover all sorts

Hello

I'm 23 and have 3 years NCB. I recently bought an '89 Z31 non-turbo auto and insured it through Direct Line (was with them for my previous car). £840 fully comprehensive paying the premium monthly so slightly more than paying it all up front as they charge an APR.

This cover includes them knowing about after market alloys and stainless exhaust and driving upto 10k miles a year.

Only condition was I had to have a Thatcham approved alarm (which I was going to fit anyway).
