Hey guys,
Gavin here, I run Auszcar | Datsun 240z 260z & 280zx (2+2) Club of Australia the Australian Z-car community site. Anyway been living in Dublin for 3 years nearly and having serious withdrawal symptoms from not driving an S30 around. I have been looking and contemplating getting an FD3S RX-7, but have also been keeping my eyes on the look out for a clean S30.

Thought I'd say hi here and try and keep a finger on the pulse of the S30 community in Ireland.

Yeah I haven't written anything in the blog for 3+ years now. I decided to travel and not spend all my money on cars. Now that I've been settled in Dublin (with a good job) I've managed to tuck aside some cash and been contemplating getting a car (would be good to travel around Ireland the UK in it on long weekends etc..).

I haven't seen Jay's car in person yet, I've met a couple of other Z owners here though. There is a brown metallic 240z for sale (imported from california) but in my opinion he's asking too much for what it is.

Datsun 240z 1973 on eBay (end time 04-Oct-10 15:21:57 BST)

Also it's wrong hand drive.

In terms of my stroker build, I had some bad luck with my engine builder. He ran off with about $1000 AU and took about $3k from my g/f we took him to court and won the case but still didn't get the money back. He took off overseas.

Needless to say I'm a lot more cautious now with who I do business with :).

I did manage to collect a high lift camshaft, triple mikuni's, LD28 crank, L14 rods (12), N42 head, (engine builder ran off with the engine blocks lol).

I'll finish it 1 day, but I'm in no rush and these cars arn't looking value anytime soon.

Did you end up going to Australia? Can't believe you didn't drive it all summer, what a shame? Is work being done on it?

I bought a made in japan magazine a while back that featured your Z. Looks good, still haven't seen it in person though. I was hoping to see it at the Terenure car show.

Hi I know this is a very old thread but I was in Mondello for the 2015 Classic live and heard later that there , I was at least another Z there shame that I missed the car and the owner . My 260Z (Red with the side pipe) went around the track with the Dunboyne Motor Club did anyone see it and more to the point get any pictures or video they would like to share? Looks like I might make the Terenure show this Sunday and definitely the Spirit of Dunboyne in September.
regards
Peter
