White 240Z Yorks.

I can see why he wouldn't advertise here..... there's no real point as we're not his target market, the car will get talked about in a very positive way anyway as we discuss cars etc.

Its a lovely car, I hope it gets a nice home and gets used.

All the same, I'm surprised if someone has produced such a great car, why they put up such poor quality photos.

However, two nice white std 240s on the market, will be interesting to see how they sell :)

Well it's sitting at 24k this morning, there is one bidder who has a big bid in and keeps at the head of the field, Reserve still not met, but then I suspect it will be there until the numbers start with a 3

Let the market forces determine what it's worth. If it does make reserve, it would be interesting what plans the new owner has for it. By that I mean are they going to enjoy driving what looks like an excellent example or has it been purchased for future value increases ?

I think that even if it sold for £50k it will get used. In classic car terms, they're still cheap to those with a 'collection'.

For a big time player with serious collection already , then perhaps it's gonna get used. However this could also be the most expensive in a poorer:eek: collectors stock, so it will be polished and polished and most likely not used.

Wise words but in either case it won't get used like we would - even in a big collection, the owner can't drive all of the cars all of the time and doesn't do club outings !

Worth it or not, at £50k, I wouldn't be exposing a std Z to bad weather so very limited use on the roads within the UK :) !

My Observation

For what its worth..

I am against this practice of re shelling cars. Using a shell from the States. For one its not a UK car anymore is it? The UK car died to give life to this clone. I am not sure of the way its done but I would assume. The only original bits may be the grafted in like the bulkhead with its VIN number, engine, box, dash and maybe some running gear. The rest is well is, American.

It should be illegal to do this maybe it is.

I have a genuine UK car of the same age. Its restored using its original body all of its original bits except a couple of front wings. I spent 3 years doing this and to see this clone makes my blood boil its not an original RHD but a conversion so its value albeit a lovely car should be less than a genuine UK RHD car. How many more of these clones are there?

Not happy with this practice at all.. its a misrepresentation of a UK car. The cars are monocoque construction and the body is some 90% of the actual car. By replacing it then having the cheek to register it on the old cars VIN number is wrong very wrong.

I dont know the legalities of the practice but my brother once had to re shell his early audi quattro rally car and as a re shell it had to be inspected by the DVLA and what ever racing rally people were involved, in the end he could not rally it or licence it on its original plate even though he had the original VIN number or the rolled car on the re shell.
Maybe he was being to honest and should have kept his mouth shut.. in the end it had a Q plate!

Just my observation from a genuine UK car owner.

This car isn't claiming to be anything other than a genuine US car that has been converted to RHD. It's on it's US VIN too.

So a clone of what exactly?!
