    Just for a little fun

I am toying with treating the Z to some new wheels. My car has one off rear arches, so I need quite a wide rear wheel but less so at the front. Currently I have 17x10 rears and 17x8 fronts both ET0 but with 25mm spacers all round.

I’d like to lose the spacers and run a deeper dish if possible and think I have finally managed to narrow down the options to a few favourites. Which do you like best...please cast your vote above.

EASY choice. 03s by far for me. And the variant with the gold centre ;)

As a wheel I prefer #1, the Volks. But I think they look too modern for your car. So my vote goes for this:

I still like the look of the rays (although mine are copies) on my blue car. Your car will need lowering a lot to complete the look IMO.

Rota grid-v's give the same look, like johny's car above but they've got flatter spokes.

The 03s all day long. Although I dig the 40s too. The Rays are just a bit too common (although largely due to the ubiquitousness of Rota Grid-Vs). The Rays/Rotas do however suit the Z if going for a slightly more modern wheel style.

Cheers for all the input gents.

The Rays are leading the way...if I choose to listen!!. To be honest I'm still struggling to make a decision!

@John - what sort of drop would you think would be needed to get close to the look of your blue car (which looks great btw) and do you think that the look could be achieved with just springs, bearing in mind the car is never likely to be tracked so coilovers would probably be a bit of overkill.

I have tried lowering springs and they all seam to leave the front too high. It is just not possible to get the height just right with them and believe me I’ve tried. Adjustable platform suspension will allow you to still use long springs, to keep ride quality, and lower the car to exactly what suits you. Budget coilovers such as BC’s are around £750 plus fitting so not much more than lowering springs and dampers. Use 16” wheels and the car will look lower than it actually is. I’d aim for no more than 1” between top of tyre and arch.

I think either Rays or 03s are a good choice but the 03s do take it for me.

I have custom lowering springs. It took a few iterations with the manufacturer adjusting the height for me, but I got it where I wanted.
Price I think was cheaper than branded "lowering springs".
