Wheels are a wheel pain...

I think I'm just after something a bit different, a bit rare, a bit jdm but still have that classic look :)

A bit JDM...

How about some SSR Longchamps? (one of my faves):

Or SSR MK3:

Or Hayashi Streets (or the Rota Shakotan/BM8 replica):

Rich,

If I were to buy those Longchamps, how do I get them to the UK? Is there a process it goes through on Yahoo? Never bought anything from there before

Those links I used were through Buyee, which is the international bidding service that is hosted within Yahoo Auctions. You can't sign up directly to YAJ outside Japan. However, proxy services allow you to do this through them. Buyee is basically YAJ's "official" one. You can sign up and then you'll be able to bid, buy, etc. Payment via Paypal. They charge service fees, so expect a bunch extra on top, as well as shipping to their warehouse in Japan and then international shipping. I think there is a calculator in their system to estimate the final cost though.

There are other third party services that allow for YAJ bidding, e.g. Rinkya (which I used to use), Nengun, etc.

RHDJapan also has a sister business called BidJDM (check the icon on the RHDJapan homepage) that works the same way. They would be a good bet actually - RHD are excellent, so I have no reason to doubt their BidJDM service would be any different.

Here's a search for Longchamps via BidJDM:

Legend! Cheers Rich

I don't think those 15x12s will fit on my Z though lol

Nor mine obviously, but check that dish!!!

You should go for it with some Longchamps - they are very cool and would look good on a white car IMO.

Guys, different kind of wheel I know, but would someone who is more savvy than me on the japanese auction sites (Richie, maybe ??) be able to tell me if you can still get hold of either one of the Nismo 10th anniversary steering wheels or a very good reproduction, like the photograph below...?? Or if there is an alternative source, cheers :)

I doubt MSA would be selling them at $400 if they were dodgy. Reproduction in this case means replica of the long discontinued Compe steering wheel.

Bit of a long shot - does anybody have any contacts that may be able to sell / source classic Japanese wheels?

I'm after some one-piece Techno Phantoms but none have popped up on Yahoo Auctions Japan in the last 2 months, only the three-piece versions...

Right - first couple bought!!!!! :D :D :D :D Christmas is looking exciting!! As Rob commented earlier, they're aptly themed for this time of year too

7j Techno Phantoms, looking at 8j for the rear and then that should be my retro Japanese shoes for the Z sorted!

Excellent - did you use BidJDM in the end? How have the charges etc., panned out?

Yerp! :) thanks for the suggestion mate. Not too sure on the charges just yet - the calculator estimated around £140 for shipping and then there was £210 for the wheels themselves.

Just waiting on the 8j rims and they're gonna be the big dent in the wallet... The wider you go by 0.5j the price increases two-fold looking at the ones up for auction.. can't imagine what 10j+ would cost!
