Wheel centre size

Ive recently bought a new set of wheels for the red car and find they do not fit over the front hub spigot. These new wheels are 7twenty style44’s. I had this problem with my first rota grid’s and needed to machine the centre out a little. I had forgotten about this when I ordered the new wheels so a word of warning to others is check the center hole size is suitable for a zed.

The 7twenty wheels are listed at 73mm which is the same as rota list for theirs. Not sure why I didn’t have a problem with the silver car.

I think it's the way it tapers on the wheels which make them catch, I ran 3mm spacers with my Rota's on the front.

After a bit more investigation I find that the back of the centre is taken out to 73mm which should work with the hub machined spigot. The 7twenty wheels have a smaller section at the front and that's the part that catches on the hub. I could run a spacer to clear this but the wheels will then hit the arch. In the end we machined the centre out to the same size as my RKR's and they fit fine.

The other problem is that centre caps don't fit unless you remove the dust cap or (in some cases) bash it in a bit.
Z front hubs have always been a problem with aftermarket wheels...
