Ignoring panels, Woody seems to be sorting that out.

What parts would you like to see made? Iike spindle pins, what bits are common in need but hard to get hold of or expensive for what they are?

    Dove tails
    Gear linkage brass sleeves
    Dash looms
    plug and play headlight relay
    Heater/vacum hoses(classic style)

You can get those though - I took the question to be what parts would you like to see made, that aren't made currently ... ?

Are those bits any more expensive than other comparable bits?

I guess we can extend it to parts that for some reason are sold at too high a price for what they are.

A new, RHD, wiring loom and column switches.

A wiring loom should be easy shouldn't it? Not sure the demand is there though?

Which cars ( all the marks or just one or two) are you looking to get parts made for Franky?

So what are you saying - it's a stupid suggestion?

What loom are you going to use in your bright shiny car with lots of new parts? Still original headlight wiring i.e. earths from the switch and taking full current? Old oxidised black wiring with corroded connectors.

Are you just asking for suggestions that an engineering company can make?

No Rob, in no way was I saying it was a stupid suggestion, i'm not sure where you got that from. I'm just not sure how popular/needed they are?

I'm not saying stuff an engineering company can make, as a club/forum, if we can get batch's of things made we can lower the price(up the quality?) on lots of needed bits which is good for us.

I"m going to test and measure my original loom, I'll replace anything that does look or measure as knackered. I'm hoping I'll get away with replacing a few connectors etc, hidden relay for the headlights though.

I'd add heater/water/vacum hoses, in a classic style.

how about plastic parts that could be recreated/improved with 3D printing? The quality of these printers is getting really good now.
Even down to the rubber caps that go over the door switch for the interior light can be reproduced.

I had a pair of brackets 3D printed to stick some bright LED's for indicators hidden behind the grill. Took about 5 mins to make a cardboard template, 15 mins to make the design and got a friend to print it for me.
    Came out brilliantly!

To pick up on Rob's point, I would like to see a plug-in loom with relays for headlights that would allow them to be converted to H4s on S30s. They are available but only overseas and by the time shipping, tax and import duties have been paid, they are too expensive.

There have been a few threads on headlights and how H4 halogen bulbs fry the electrics and switches and also LED headlights are largely untested at MOT so I would say that there would be a demand for a reasonably priced solution.

I think with 3d printing, where I've seen prototype parts, they're prone to UV issues and have a life of 2-3 years in certain applications and locations?

I'm with you here Doug - these cost a fortune to bring over.

I tried with FRP but getting 'em right AND especially the reflective struip and fixing brackets was a nightmare.

    Dashboards......!
