What did you do to your Z this week?

Makes sense - will you be fitting a factory roll-over bar?

Yes! I've fitted an original Nissan Sports Option one in the 432-R replica, and I'll be fitting a genuine ex-Works rally car one in the LHD car.

The Works rally version is slightly different from the Sports Option version in that the two vertical 'drop' bars are set wider apart. This was to allow one - sometimes two - Works rally wheels and tyres to fit into the rear hatch area. Without the wider gap they just wouldn't fit.

Put a new fan belt on. So hopefully a reliable belt now plus the old one as a get-you-home belt in the boot!
Re my new belt, its noisy, I tightened it so it doesn't squeal but its way noisier than the old belt. Is there a belt quiet spray or something?

what sort or noise Tim?
It's a rushing/high frequency noise like a constant not quite a squeak but it's not a slipping sound. It's audible with windows down driving. I will experiment with tension but wondered if there was a product people had used to minimise v belt noise.

Maybe it's too tight and/or the bearings in the Alternator or water pump pulleys are on the way out. Can you twist the belt by a quarter turn on the longest run?

Will try that, also some belt dressing spray which I have only just been introduced to!

Got my Agreed Valuation Certificate through from the insurance company today. They have agreed with the Club valuation of £10k. This means the value has doubled in the last 3 years. EXTRA:D

Modified some fully radiused Webber horns to fit my SUs. On the test drive she ran into the rev limiter in 1st and 2nd -unwittingly!! So I can only assume they are doing a great job. Have to do a proper write up on the experimenting later. But they fit better inside the club airbox too!

there is a 0.6mm diameter difference with the carb mouths which I will graduate in the winter. The iPhone camera makes it look MASSIVELY exaggerated, but you can barely feel it with finger nails.
