What did you do to your Z this week?

No actual work, other than a quick wash and buff over with Aqua wax, then i braved the rain for a small car show with my local classic car club at Beckenham Place Park. Took a couple of pics before most had turned up, first shot I've remembered to take of the new wheels :)

I used the roof to put my welding helmet on a few times, other than that, I can't think I did much ... oh, hang on, balanced the bluetooth speaker on the front wing when I was working at the front of the garage ...

Thanks buddy, came across them by accident on ebay and really liked the look, not heard of FYK before, but less than £100 per wheel, i took the plunge.

I went for 16" by 8j, but i couldn't get them in zero offset so had to have the +10 versions, which meant a 10mm spacer on the front to miss the strut, plus a 5mm on the rear to bring them out a little, although they didn't actually rub the strut at the back.

I like most wheels that people have on there Z's but anything i see too often puts me off however nice they may look! I always liked the old skool revolution 4 or 5 spoke wheels, so these FYK are a nod to those. :D

Got the wings, boot lid, and scuttle panel, filled, sanded, and epoxy primed. I couldn’t find a RHD scuttle panel so I cut the wiper holes out, repositioned them to the RHD position and welded them back in

Took car in for some scratches to be sorted and spoiler damage sustained in France last year and a tiny hole in chassis and a bit of crud around the rad support panel not bad as I haven’t touched the car for about 13-15 years, just washed it and drove it so it’s held up nicely considering

I get that, there's loads of the cars with the standard classic wheels (mine included).

No rubbing issues then? the fitment looks good

Use a tool I bought 3 years ago but never used until now - one of the best tools ever and got some seriously nasty looking fluid out of the rear circuit (quite milky at first).

I bought that set a few months back. After all my brake issues i thought anything to make the routine fluid changes an easier one man job can only be a good thing! :)

It works as expected then?

also have you seen these https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Brake-Bl...e=STRK:MEBIDX:IT&_trksid=p2060353.m1438.l2649 not got one myself yet, but could make the faff that is tightening/loosening the nipple while bleeding a little easier. Ignore the size, i can't remember if 10mm is correct or not!

I do get a 'slight noise' on full lock, but Ive not had the chance to investigate, the tires don't touch the arches when fully turned one way or the other, but i guess could be just rubbing the inner arch instead!
