No Mike, he sold it. Someone ended up with a good car, the engine after the rebuild was very nice.

Thanks, hope so. Still evaluating all atm. Definitely going to stick with the flat tops to start with and really looking forward to comparing with my 260's 240 carb set up. Some ways to go yet though!..

I think it good Addison cutting his teeth on a stock car, then he can go for his resto-mod later with more knowledge.

Went to visit RIDDLER Sunday to reunited him with the Z and to see his Volvo P1800. As you would expect with his cars, the P1800 was immaculate, very nice indeed Rob.

Took a spin down to a country pub, had a very nice lunch and took a few photos. Then headed off to BOB-ON's to collect the last bits n bobs (pardon the pun) for Addison's car, emblems etc. Cataloguing all atm, some very interesting OEM parts and will post up photos shortly

Ordered up some better mirror switches to replace mine from Ebay in the States. The chrome on mine had peeled off, so I just painted them silver.

Bargain at £12 inc P&P from the States. Delivery may take some time though... "Estimated delivery within 8-22 working days". Just as well I'm not in a hurry!

Been playing with my throttle bodies. Made up a set of 6 from 2 4’s. need to deside wheather to make an entirely new inlet manifold or just resize the gaps between the bodies.

Thanks. I think I’m more in love with the car every time I drive her.

She does have a small issue lately though. On a startup if the engine is warm she turns over but needs some throttle to keep her going. Fine every time from a cold start though.

Edit - Just to clarify it’s intermittent, not every warm start.

Thank you - though the Rover was a fast, powerful car that was extremely comfortable!
The Volvo ticks all the classic car boxes for me - and (though you may laugh in disbelief) I intend to keep this one!
I had to look long and hard to find one and there are very few around now.
It is a 1968, four speed manual with overdrive and I have already covered nearly 5,000 miles in it during the five months I have owned it!
It is nothing like as quick as the Z - but this car is more about style than speed. And I still have my GT86 if I fancy flying around!
Personally I don't like the ES (that's the estate) version. To me it is the beautiful curves, lines and fins that make this car - and that is largely lost on the estate which is why they fetch less than half the money.
Anyway, here are a couple of pictures of it for those who are interested.
By the way, delighted that Tim is looking after my 260Z so well - it looked fantastic and is a real credit to him.

God, that is gorgeous. Always admired these without ever coming close to owning one. Colour really suits it. Was looking through an old early 90s Practical Classics the other day and there was a '65 one for sale, largley original although wanting some paintwork and it was cheap as chips - or seemingly in comparison so like the Z, it's a car that has been undervalued in the past.

It looks wonderful and the interior in that colour is a refreshing change from black! I wish you many more enjoyable miles in it.

I had something similar with one of my 280Zs.
I unplugged the cold start injector which seemed to clear the issue.
I've not got round to investigating further but it is most likely the thermo-time switch failing causing the cold start injector to dump in extra fuel.
It might worth pulling off the plug the next time it happens to see if that stops the issue.
Another possibility is the cold start injector leaking but I can't see that being intermittent.

Thanks very much. It feels very sixties when you drive it - but everything (heater, wipers etc) works beautifully. Not particularly fast off the mark (it’s a 1.8 four cylinder twin-carb) but it will bob along very comfortably at 70 in overdrive on the motorway and return 35 mpg so that does for me. It certainly turns heads. I am so happy with it (though when I sat back in my old Z and revved the engine I did feel a slight pang of regret . . .).
