What did you do to your Z this week?

I've been working on the interior for the last few days.
I fitted a new vinyl kit on the strut towers which was a bit of a PITA.
The old vinyl was in really good shape when it was first removed but had gone really hard when it was in storage so I ended up using an MSA kit that I had bought some time ago.
I also made a new headliner and side pieces from some vinyl cloth and some 4mm foam matting which I'm pretty happy with. Hopefully, it will withstand the Cyprus summer heat!
The side pieces will need a bit of adjusting as they are not sitting quite right but that will have to wait as I'm heading off back to work in Brazil for a month tomorrow.

That looks good. Wish the weather was that nice here.

Ha yes , i though better safe than sorry , its a load of weight just on 4 bolts so wood is always your friend .
The Z had a total rebuild about 14 years ago , but alas some corrosion has got into the chassis legs again !
So before it gets too bad we are on it again , in fairness the rest has faired well

Finally got a chance to finish the modified rear mounts for my axle dolly - ow bolts to the moustache bar bolts. Front ones will bolt to the holes for the engine/suspension crossmember.

Nice work Matt. Richie, that axle dolly is the exact one I had (from Turn & Burn's thread) ...

SO useful. Like a fool, I sold mine when the resto was completed.

Replacement brake vacuum booster arrived this morning from RockAuto, 5 days between order and delivery :) not that its going to be fitted any time soon with this weather!

Its an early 280zx example, 1979-81, 10" diameter, and on advice from a well known authority, it should be a straight swap for my 260z 2+2, apparently a 280z 2+2 one, not 2 seater, should fit fine also, although i dont believe it was felt that that was a 100% certainty, this Centric 280zx one was in stock, with no core required, so it was the preferential purchase.

Will degrease and prime, topcoat before fitting, was thinking black as OEM, but maybe dark grey or gunmetal.... thoughts?!

They’re good and were good value too. I just needed them to be more secure. The shell fell off the rear one about five times when we were moving it from one barn to the adjacent one a few months back. Hence me making new bolt-on uprights to make it safe for moving and loading for when it goes to Enviro-Strip.

Parcel man came a few mins ago with a bundle of stuff that’s been sitting in my brother-in-law’s basement in Massachusetts for a couple of months. Another new JDM horn pad:

Rota RKRs in a size not offered in the U.K.- 15x9 ET-15 (you can only get ET0 here). The photos actually don’t make these look as deep dish as they actually are for some reason. These will be about right for the rear of the car and will fill up the ZG arches with the right tyre choice without looking too wide. I will run 15x9 ET0 on the front. These are in the magnesium black colour too which the U.K. importer says is discontinued. I may have to get the front ones in another colour and have them refinished to match these.
