What did you do to your Z this week?

Took the 260Z for an mot on Wednesday. It passed with flying colours. No probs what so ever, even passed the new emissions test, although getting the pipe up my blanked off Supertrap system was interesting.

Interesting.. 100kg more than a Z.. must be the sheet metal!.. The engine bay is pretty sparse. Agree, one of, if not the nicest P1800's I've seen. Rob, did you clock the little time piece on the dash RIDDLER added?.. Plus the emblem on the rear... Done with style.. :)

I think it’s the older chassis design. Great shaped cars though.

Just got confirmation from the insurance company that they have agreed with the club valuation on the 280zx. Thanks again to Mike for doing this.

I removed all the stuff that I had put on the roof over the last 8-9 months, interior panels, mats, various stuff. All this in readiness for the inspection the lovely DVLA informed me I am going to have to endure in order to get it registered. Spoke to SGS yesterday who carry these out on behalf of the DVLA and they assure me it's literally a 'is it the car you state it is' and that all the VINs are correct etc. Anyone had one? Couple of weeks they say, They'll let me know a date and time.

Went over to see DC Engine Builder today.. Fantastic work on Addison's engine rebuild, currently stress relieving and porting head, I'm no expert, quite a bit is beyond me, but all looking good and Dave will be posting up shortly

A little frustrated with space, still trying to sort out storage for my Z, once done I'm ready to crack with some last remaining bits of garage prep and then on with Addison's rebuild.

Spent the last few days building a parts list, hoping to source before the main build gets under progress. Will post up shortly

He didn't just hold the probe from a distance then Jake, like any worthy non tree huger.. :)

John, tell me more about the SGS visit, as I am awaiting a call from them with a date/time ...

What exactly they do, how long etc ... can't imagine it's a big deal though if all is in order.

Drove it to work, on the way back from Bicester, and the exhaust fell off. Had a look and the two hanging brackets have come off the underside of the car :(

It's not a big deal. He was only with me for 5mins. He had a list of where the number was to be found so checked that all 4 locations were correct and that the engine number was correct to the engine bay vin plate. He then took pictures of all 5 numbers, the engine bay to show the engine was in place and then pictures of the car to indicate it was complete. The 4 places for the chassis vin of a US import are: engraving above brake booster, inner wing, drivers door reveal and dashboard. Although he looked for all these I'm not sure it would be a problem if not all were in place. The engraving is the most important.

All sorts going on at the moment - project multitasking amid a chaotic garage.

Bunch of parts into 2K epoxy primer above. And S13 and S14 boxes to fall over.
Also, completely rebuilt Dixie’s heater and blower units , which I had fine media blasted a while ago:

Also have a guest vacationing on the drive this week (receiving a new gearbox tomorrow)...
