Let us know how you get on Franky ...
Back working on the 70 Series 1 Safari Gold Z.
Ripped into the heater control panel and removed the old broken bezel and replaced with a re-pop from MSA.
While the heater controls were out, decided it was a good time to take the clock out and figure out why she won't run. After some cleaning and WD-40, got her back to a beautiful tic toc sound and re-installed. Very happy to have a working clock.
Fixed the vibration issue with the red car. Had the new driveshaft re-balanced and it's lovely and smooth now.
That’s a funky looking clock, Mike!
A more familiar angle.
Took mine for a good blast, getting it ready now for the Le-mans classic trip in July as put an s14a box and quickshift and new rear brake pistons and head gasket latter part of last year so just seeing if it all works ok,needs a rolling rd session since putting s14 box in as kangaroos on low revs,
I finally got the seats I bought from Japan fitted into my 260Z, along with replacing the lap belts with something a bit safer.
Hopefully we can see them tonight!
I'd like to see them :-(
What did you do in terms of mounting them? Given the size difference between them and the stock runners and mounting holes?
What seats and from where?
I used a set of generic rails and bolted them straight into the seats, then made a plate out of 4mm steel that was then bolted onto the back half of the cars raised floor section(where the rails would normally mount) and a second plate bolted onto the front raised floor section(where the rails would normally mount). Then bolted the rails to those 4mm plates. The hardest bit was figuring out how to do it while still being able to get to the bolts to tighten everything down properly. It worked out fine in the end. I guess I should have taken a few pics showing the progress but hey ho.
Replica Datsun competition seats from Japan. I can't remember off the top of my head who the company was as I bought them a while back. I also bought the headrests but haven't fitted them yet.
They look like some I was after, can you show a pic of the back and the side? Did you get the belt guides also?
Well as it been good weather over weekend today i went to a local car show in barnsley organised by yorkshire thurebread car club they do few over year always a variety of classics took pics of the only jap cars there
i managed to break the bonnet cable on the zed took me couple hour to do it eventually made the descion of jacking front of the passenger side up and getting my hand up with a screw driver and a light in other hand and managed to pop first catch while kerrie had hold to lift it to get to 2nd release to open it happy days
Had a sneaky little runout this morning to the Bristol breakfast meat
Next time I go over to my lockup I'll take some photos of the seats for you.
Last weekend I made a corner bracket for my front bumper. It took a couple of goes to get it right but I’ m quite pleased with the result (the result being the bumper isn’t rattling any more!).
Doesn’t make for a great photo
Then I got an MOT and to complete the once a year experience, I cleaned it.
Now my engine is now run in I took my Z out for a nice Sunday drive up around Brecon,
Next job is to fit the Subaru 4.11 LSD and get it on a dyno ,
Lovely video - I was enjoying the ride too!
On a road like that it seems silly to put 'bend' chevrons on every corner and tbh a lot were obscured by bushes.
Shame it was so busy with other cars!
What diff ratio are you running now?
Separate names with a comma.
