What did you do to your Z this week?

Nice, what did they replace inside and how much did it cost if you don't mind me asking.
So, all the inner seals were replaced. They told me they had to get one especially made as well - I'm unsure which one. Basically anything that they couldn't replace was refurbished. The only way to truly know if it's any good is real world testing by putting it all back together and see how it feels.

I probably won't be feeling much difference personally because of the PAS installed. But I'm going the whole way on the restoration at my own comfortable pace.

Quoted £250 initially and thought it was ex vat. Charged £240 including vat. They offer delivery as well but, was working locally when it was ready for pickup.

A friend of mine refurbed the rack himself. Not an easy job to remove all the play in the worn bushes. £240 sounds a bargain if they have replaced all the worn parts. I know of someone who had their rack "refurbished" and basically the only thing they could do is make it look pretty without spending a fortune on remaking all the worn parts. It will be good to hear if your feels better.

May need to take them up on that! Looks great. Looking forward to hearing what you think once you get round to installing it.

Today I removed the front coilovers and Wilwoods from my 260Z

And fitted them to my sons 280Z ongoing project

Sadly his old 14’s didn’t clear the brakes so we had to drop my wheels on for now until the tyres for his 15” Atara’s arrive. I can then get on with fitting this lot to my car

Looks a bit low now!

They look awesome! Some lovely new additions for yours!.

Is that a vacuum pump I can see in the wheel arch? I am in two minds as to whether I need one.. can i ask what made you decide on one and does it solely drive vacuum to brake and heater controls.. thanks

To be honest the height looks ok and it measures the same as it did on my car with the RB25 donk on it. This car was running standard shocks and springs previously, and since it’s been “defederalised” it ended up looking very high indeed. We’ve got the original setup off the car which he can choose to do with what he wants in the future. In the autumn I’ll be tackling the rear end on my car and all of the original stuff will most likely make its way into the 280 too.

The pump that you can see on the inner wheel arch on my car is the PAS pump for the BMW rack. All of that is coming out. I’ve got an EPAS column conversion from Silvermine which I’m going to fit and a refurbished manual 260 rack. My engine subframe has been modified not only for the RB25 but it’s also had the front part cut and welded to accomodate the steering rack. The best way for me to undo this is to start again with a new subframe (which I sourced recently). I’ll make the new mounts and gussets for the RB then I’ll blast it and wet paint it.

After removing my entire suspension system from the car, having all the bushes removed and the nuisance dampers / pinions pulled out (those pinions haunt my dreams).

I have sent everything to a refutable specialist to be cleaned / zinc plated / vapour blast / powder coated.

Hopefully I'll be able to reassemble it all before donnington this year. Wish me luck

Same here! All suspension and diff off the car, next week it’s stone chipping and then reinstall all the Techno Toy Tuning suspension and mounts along with new KYB shocks. At last my project seems to be moving forward as opposed to one step forward and two back 😂😂
