What did you do to your Z this week?

My technotoy tuning front strut brace arrived from the US. Was on back order.

Test fitted it and it doesn't clear my airbox, I knew it would be tight, so some modification will be required to it.

The quality is really ace.

Started it up in the garage and ran it up to temperature, no issues. Looking forward to salt free roads and an eased lockdown.

Got the leaky rear wheel cylinders, shoes and drums replaced and flushed/bled the fluid.

Was a real pain changing the cylinders on jack stands, hard to get under there!

Could you share some details on where it doesn't clear, I got the zstorey brace and it won't clear the v8s throttle body so looking at alternatives before I try to modify it!

At last I got round to doing the indicator switch fix (on steering column) . Followed you tube video and worked well once it was off. (although not a US car so didn't have the brake light link in the switch to clean as well).

Whilst at it, cleaned up the relay contacts and fixed a previous bodge on the steering column plastic covers. Then fixed second horn, it was the actual horn contacts, and then cleaned up the bonnet release and it now opens lovely!

found seats that I'd like. had a bit of procrastination over how I'd want them trimmed.

Spent a further 3 days repeating the above.

Will spend a further 2 days doing it. Aim to order early next week.

Replaced the side window rubber felt thingy - it was the only weatherstrip I skipped during restoration and it bothered me every single time I opened the door. I used weatherstrip adhesive (instead of the stock metal strip+clamps).

OK, got round to ordering my sunvisor clip (above mirror) from Minksport this week, looking forward to that. Not much left, except clock fix, intermittent rpm gauge.

I have decided to modify the interior courtesy light to allow the kids to play with brightness and colour whilst keeping a period look. So they can read whilst I'm driving.

Car is running well. Did a total of 4 (local) miles this week to collect some plumbing but started cold well, ran smooth and powerful and hot starts well. Idle hot is slightly high so will tweak at some point. New Bluetooth amp going in soon, its a small Chinese thing that's easy to fix and keeps original 8 track in the dash.

Maybe a polish later this weekend to keep me smiling when I see it in the garage.

Is yours a 2+2? map light is good for front seat passengers.
