What did you do to your Z this week?

Swearing lots at stuck bolts and spindles. Rear LCA spindles are seized in. The same with the bolt bolts at the lower at the front strut. I'm leaving it with tonnes of penetrating fluid overnight and if that doesn't work, bring on the heat.

Makes one thankful for reasonable job stability. Although I'm getting slammed at the moment as in our business (consumer insight and intelligence) there's a massive push right from the top to drop everything and go full Defcon 1 on writing about coronavirus. I'm going to be bashing out opinion pieces on CoVid-19 and consumer lunacy for months! While also trying to play teacher to the kids and not be the vector that brings the virus into the house, given my wife's "at risk" status (asthmatic, recently hospitalized with pneumonia and lung issues)...

Got a couple of things done inbetween working from home.
The led panel light for the glove box arrived and was fitted in a matter of moments. Ba9 adaptor fits in the switch socket and connects to the led by a pos and a neg wire through a connector, if the polarity is wrong you just turn the connector round. The panel has a strong adhesive pad on the back which I used to stick it to the roof of the glove box.

Couldn't work out why the courtesy light wouldn't work off the door switches despite the unit itself being fine and the new led working as it should. It would only work when manually switched on.
So I pulled the offside switch out of the pillar and saw that it was smothered in anti-rust wax. Gave it a good clean and hey presto it works fine now. Pulled the nearside one and the same story so I now have fully working courtesy light switches.

Took delivery of another project yesterday and took a few pictures in the sun today. Very happy with my purchase. Appears to have zero rust and a great base car. It’s a ‘70 car that’s so good I may make it a keeper. It’s also a complete car with all the hard to find series 1 parts. It fact there are so many extra parts included in the sale I could build another car from a shell. It’s also got all the RHD bits including an excellent dash. Most of the RHD conversion has already been done but will need a bit of finishing. Although the car has no rust it does have a lot of dents, dings and wavey bits so will need a fair bit of straightening.

I’ll start a build thread when I get going with this one.

Looks good. Where did you pick this one up?

It was for sale on here last week. Bought from Neil who also very kindly delivered it plus a van full of parts.

Will probably keep this l-series but things often change.

I have got someone coming to look at doing all the panel work next week.
