Mike, regarding the black/silver plates, your right of course at the time they wouldn't have been legal but since the law changed and they suit the colour of the car I thought why not. I have the original yellow and white plates but they're currently mounted on the garage wall - there if I ever need them . Cheers Paul

Playing devils advocate, but if you like the originality of the 'tie down hooks' shouldn't you also have the period correct plates, despite what the law now allows? ;):p

Ive never seen one of those rear number plate brackets before, my 2+2 certainly never had one, probably fell off with some other rust!

    Hi Toopy
I do like originality, but also admire a lot of the modified cars out there. If I was going to do another I'd be more than happy to modify it. I have both sets of plates (black/silver & original yellow/white) in case I want to change them. Similarly I also have a rear spoiler and rear light surround panels painted in the same body colour as opposed to the standard colour currently fitted, like wise I've fitted vented inspection covers on the front but have the original set pre painted if I want it more standard. I like having the option of both. It's like the wheels I guess, sometimes I like to fit the original steel wheels and trims, other times I prefer to fit wolfrace or the minilites currently fitted (thanks to turn & burn).

I've never seen one of those brackets before either ... good info though. Cheers Paul!
